Who Will Get to 5G First?

The U.S and China are rushing to develop the much anticipated 5G network. The United States President Donald Trump is making sure that America will be the first to implement the high speed network.

Last week, President Trump made clear that he wants more speed for developing the new wireless networks across the U.S. by stating “the race to 5G is a race America must win.” But specialists state that the U.S., however, requires a more precise 5G strategy. That strategy must not focus on attacking Huawei, the world’s largest supplier of telecommunications equipment.

The Week that was

U.S. Dollar was strong last week and one of the reasons for the greenback's bullish momentum was gold. Gold fell to its lowest while economic numbers from China increased just to ease the fears covering global economic retardation.  The U.S oil, in general, was weak all week, and that could be the beginning of a declining market. Natural gas ended the week clearly under after a government stock release noted a slightly larger than normal build.

Main Focus This Week

The main focus for the week should be the EUR. We will have Economic data that covers, on Tuesday flash consumer confidence numbers EU and they are published before Germany's business confidence figures on Wednesday. On Friday will be the French jobseeker figures. European markets will be closed on Monday and because of that, the business confidence numbers will probably have the most significant impact.
